Michigan Insurance

Michigan, also known as the Wolverine State and the Great Lake State, is one of the Great Lakes states of the US. It is made up, largely, of two large peninsulas and most of the boundaries of Michigan are formed by four Great Lakes – the Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Erie, and Lake Michigan. The state entered the Union in 1837, to become the 26th state. Michigan economy was dominated by farming, forestry, fur trapping, and mining, in the 19th century, but became industrialized in the 20th, and Michigan became a major centre of the motor industry in the US. In the 1990s, service industries such as tourism, Michigan auto insurance, and Michigan health insurance, took on an important role, in addition to agriculture, and mining. The state is among the foremost manufacturing states in the nation and major industries include cars, industrial machinery like engines and construction equipment, iron and steel, and rubber. Michigan was the home of President Gerald R. Ford for a number of years.

Michigan has an area 96,705 square miles. Mount Arvon, located in north-west Michigan is the highest point. The geography of Michigan has two main regions -- the Superior Upland and the Eastern Great Lakes Lowland. The Superior Upland has mountain ranges, including the Porcupine Mountains and the Gogebic and Copper ranges. Principal rivers include the Grand, the Manistee, and Menominee. The Upper Peninsula is noted for waterfalls like Tahquamenon. In addition to The Great Lakes, the state has over 11,000 lakes, the largest of which is Houghton. The climate of Michigan is humid continental, with short summers. The state sees some damaging storms, and tornadoes, especially in the Lower Peninsula, making Michigan home insurance and Michigan life insurance priority products.

As is the case with many states, the requirement for quality Michigan insurance is a necessity. With a varied, but large, population, the state sees a variety of industries requiring a large portion of the workforce. This means there is a requirement for adequate coverage in terms of Michigan health insurance and Michigan life insurance. The car manufacturing industry also means that there are a large number of vehicles in the state that are exported and retained within the state. To be legal under Michigan state law, it is a requirement that all drivers have adequate Michigan auto insurance.
