Montana Insurance

Montana is the fourth largest state in the United States. It has a land area of 145,552 miles and shares a 545-mile border with Canada towards its north. On the eastern side is North Dakota and some of South Dakota with Wyoming on the south and Idaho on the southwest. The western part of the state has the famous Rocky Mountains with sporadic island ranges dotting the state. More than half of Montana is prairie. Three rivers, Saint Mary, Belly, and the Waterton flow through Montana and join the Saskatchewan River to empty into the Hudson Bay, Canada.

The state is also known by its nickname “Treasure State.” The state symbol representing the State tree is the Ponderosa Pine. The state animal is the Grizzly Bear, state bird is the Western Meadowlark, and the state flower is the Bitterroot.

Montana winters are usually quite cold but dry. There are a few extended cold spells during winter with mild windy weather lasting for about a week to ten days in between. These interim periods of moderate weather are known as 'chinook weather'. Summers are warm but rarely severe with summer nights being cool and pleasant. Snow is a common occurrence in the winter months in the state and reinforces the need for Montana auto insurance and Montana home insurance as well.  These policies would protect your car and home in the event that the weather was to cause damage to either.

Sparsely populated, Montana occupies the 44th position in terms of population among all the states and has the third lowest population density. 2005 statistics show Montana as having a population of less than one million people. Agriculture is the main base of the economy of Montana. Lumber and mineral extractions also play a significant role along with tourism. Montana sees millions of tourists every year coming to visit the Battle of Little Bighorn site, the Glacier National Park and the Yellow stone National Park. Due to the highly agricultural industry in the state, it is also imperative that Montana farmers and ranchers are able to find reasonable rates when it comes to purchasing self-employed Montana health insurance and Montana life insurance in the state.

Insurance is the third largest industry in Montana. It's regulation is ensured through The Insurance Commissioner of Montana. The Montana Annotated Code 2005, Title 33 covers the business of insurance and insurance companies in Montana, which include Montana life Insurance, Montana Home Insurance, Montana auto insurance, and Montana Health Insurance. The Montana legislature approved the 'Insure Montana' program in 2005. This program uses tax credits and pooling in order to provide more affordable Montana Health Insurance to small businesses.
