New Hampshire insurance

New Hampshire is a US state in the New England region and is named after the English county of Hampshire. In addition to being the first state that had its own state constitution, it was also among the thirteen colonies that sanctioned the United States constitution. Besides Alaska, New Hampshire is the only US state that does not have a sales and income tax. The state motto is ‘Live free Or Die’. New Hampshire is otherwise known as the ‘granite state’. The nickname is derived from its geological origin and its self-sufficient status. In comparison to the other US states, New Hampshire has the shortest coastline. Places of interest include the White Mountains, the Seacoast, the Lakes region, and the Great North Woods. It is also well known for the famous rock formation called ‘the old man of the mountain’, a rugged face profile. The state is also popularly renowned for recreational activities and tourist attractions including NASCAR events, Loudon classic, bike week, and other sports at the New Hampshire International Speedway.

Its geographical location is such that in the north, it is bounded by Quebec and Canada, to its east lie the Atlantic ocean and Maine, Massachusetts in the south and Vermont in the west. The northern and the central region of the state is occupied by the White Mountains range and surrounded by other ranges like mount Madison and mount Adams. The state experiences hurricane winds, every third day. Besides this, the upper region of Mount Washington is also known for having the worst weather on the earth. Mount Monadnock is another popular landmark in southwest New Hampshire. Merrimack River, and its tributaries including Contoocook river and Pemigewasset river; Connecticut River and the Connecticut lake, the Piscataqua river and its tributaries are some of the major rivers of New Hampshire. It is covered by extensive forests and ranks second in terms of the most forested US state.

The state enjoys a humid and continental type of climate. Summers are warm and humid while winters are cold and wet. It experiences precipitation all the year round. The southeastern region has a relatively milder and wetter weather compared to the other regions due to the moderating effect of the Atlantic Ocean. On the other hand, interiors have a cooler climate and lesser humidity. Winters are severe with snowfall through out the state.
