Rhode Island Insurance
‘Little Rhody’ is the popular nickname of the state of Rhode Island and the Providence Plantations. Now the official nickname is ‘the Ocean State’ as most parts of this state are covered by salt water. This state is the smallest state in the United States, however, it is also known to have the longest official name. It was Rhode Island that declared independence from the British rule among the original thirteen colonies under British occupancy and the last to join the American constitution.
It is situated on the North American mainland and shares its borders on the east and north with Massachusetts, and the south by the Atlantic Ocean. It is at an elevation of 200 feet. There are two types of natural regions in Rhode Island. One is the lowland of the Narragansett Bay on the eastern part while the western region forms a part of the New England Upland. The bay has many islands out of which the biggest is the Aquidneck Island. This state is also home to many beaches. It is in this area that you will find a number of summer homes on waterfront property, all of which require considerable Rhode Island home insurance to ensure the safety of the home throughout the year and the rough weather that is able to develop in the Atlantic and move inland.
The Atlantic coastline makes it susceptible to horrendous storms. It is also at risk of experiencing hurricanes and other natural disasters. Due to this, the government has provided the people with

Rhode Island was one of the leading producers of textiles with a large presence of cotton mills. However, they lost their status during the great depression. It continues to produce textiles, but has lost the power it once held. The reduction of the textile industry resulted in many abandoned factories, which are now being used to house the elderly, or are converted into condos or offices. Health and education services are major contributors to the development of the economy. Tourism and other manufacturing industries also contribute. This state is also known for its lowest consumption of energy. Due to the industry and health care in the state, the state requires substantial Rhode Island insurance coverage to ensure the safety of the residence and that they are adequately covered for what life may bring.
