The state of Tennessee, also called the Volunteer State, is one of the eastern states of the United States of America, with the Mississippi River making up the western boundary of the state. Tennessee entered the Union, in 1796, as the 16th state, and was later the site of many of the major battles of the American Civil War.

The economy stayed mainly agricultural until the middle of the 20th century. At this point, service industries such as Tennessee auto insurance, Tennessee life insurance, Tennessee health insurance, Tennessee Home Insurance and the manufacturing sector took predominance in the economy. The capital, Nashville, is famous for its part in the country-and-western music world, and Memphis was one of the hotbeds of the blues and jazz styles of music.

Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is one of the leading centers for research and development related to nuclear power. The state is a leading producer of zinc and marble. The manufacture of timber and wood products such as furniture, and paper are important, economically. Major manufacturing sectors include industrial machinery, chemicals, clothing and textiles, processed foods, cars, electronic equipment, printing, and primary metals, with Tennessee being among the leading states in the US producing aluminum. Tourism has recently been increasing in significance. These large industries require that employers in the state provide the proper types of Tennessee health insurance and Tennessee life insurance in the state.

The area of the state is 42,145 square miles, and its geography is divisible into four regions -- the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Appalachian Mountains, the Interior Low Plateau, and the Gulf Coastal Plain. Major rivers are the Mississippi, the Tennessee, the Cumberland, and the Ohio River. Reelfoot Lake is the only large natural lake. The climate of Tennessee is temperate, with warm, humid summers and cool winters.

The weather in Tennessee remains rather uneventful in the state, except in the rare occasion of a tornado or thunderstorm. However, despite the weather it is important that residents always maintain the appropriate level of coverage on their homes and cars through Tennessee auto insurance and Tennessee home insurance policies.  All types of insurance are available in Tennessee and available at reasonable rates.
