Utah Insurance

Utah, also known as the Beehive State, is one of the western states of the US. Indigenous peoples living in the area, before white settlers arrived, included the Ute, the Gosiute, the Paiute, and the Navajo. By 1846, the Mormons, fleeing persecution in Ohio, Missouri, and Illinois, began to move west into the modern day Utah area. The first group arrived in what was later to become Salt Lake City, in 1847, followed by many others. Utah entered the Union, in 1896, as the 45th state. From early settlement days, the economy of Utah was primarily based on agriculture and mining. The economy developed rapidly in the 20th century.

The Mormons reclaimed the wasteland producing bumper crops, and the world’s largest open-pit copper mine was developed at Bingham Canyon. The economy saw a further boost when uranium, oil, and gas fields were discovered in the state. By the 1990s, Utah had become a diversified economy, with a large manufacturing sector and service industries such as Utah auto insurance and Utah health insurance products. Tourism has become a major part of the economy of the state. Major manufacturing products include transport equipment, industrial machinery, and precision instruments.

Utah has a land area of 84,904 square miles, and can be is divided into three regions, geographically -- the Middle Rocky Mountains, the Colorado Plateau, and the Great Basin. It is severely mountainous and the major rivers include the Colorado and its tributaries, the Green and San Juan. The two largest natural lakes in Utah are the Great Salt Lake and Utah Lake. Temperatures are extreme with heavy snows in winter. Summer rain usually occurs as local thunderstorms, which often give rise to flash floods, making Utah home insurance and Utah life insurance a matter of importance.

Throughout the state there is a need for Utah insurance.  The insurance industry is managed by the Utah Department of Insurance; however, it is the responsibility of residents to insure themselves and their assets.  There are a number of different options when it comes to insurance in the state including Utah auto insurance, Utah home insurance, Utah health insurance and Utah life insurance.  All of these types of insurance have their place in the lives of Utah residents, but Utah auto insurance and Utah home insurance ensures that residents are abiding by state law.
