Washington Insurance

Washington was named after the first president of the United States of America, George Washington. This is the only state in the US to be named after a president. Washington became a part of the US union in the year 1889 and was the 42nd state to join. It is imperative to know that Washington is also known as the Washington state to distinguish it from Washington DC which is the capital of the country. This state falls in the northwestern part of the United States and shares most of its borders with Oregon and the Columbia River. Apart from this, there is the Snake River, Clearwater River, and the Pacific Ocean, which lies in the west.

The gross state product of the state places it 14th in line. Its manufacturing industry is thriving with companies like Boeing in aircraft engineering, Microsoft and Nintendo of America in the field of computer software developing and other industries include biotechnology, aluminum production, mining, and tourism. It has a regressive tax structure and does not levy a personal income tax to its citizens.

It has the cascade mountain ranges, which run along and divide the state into the west and the east. The western part enjoys a marine west coats climate where they have mild temperatures with wet winters and dry summers. On the eastern part, it is generally hot, with a few arid deserts and a dry climate. There are also many dense forests in the western part of the state.

The cascading ranges house many volcanoes that are still considered to be active. The volcanoes are Mount Baker, Glacier Peak, Mount Rainier, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Adams. The areas at a higher altitude have a cool temperature than those in the lower lying areas. The climate in Washington differs from the west to the east. The west has an oceanic climate due to the presence of the Pacific Ocean and as one moves towards the east the climate becomes much drier. They also have cyclone and anticyclone activities near the ocean.

The presence of the Pacific Ocean, the Columbia River, and active volcanoes increases the states risk of natural disasters. Understanding the difficulties and keeping this in mind the government provides Washington auto insurance, Washington life insurance, Washington health insurance, and Washington Home Insurance to the people at reasonable costs. It is imperative that residents of the state take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of their assets as well as their families in the state.  This is possible by taking advantage of the Washington insurance rates and options that are available in the state.
