ARIZONA Insurance
Arizona is located in the southwest region of the US. It is one of the four corner states, surrounded by New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, and California. On 14 February 1912, it was the last contiguous state to be admitted to the Union. Phoenix is not only the capital but also the largest city of Arizona. The word ‘Arizona’ is supposedly derived from the Basque phrase-'aritz onak’, which means ‘good oaks’. The state is heavily dependent on a framework of cotton farming and copper mining industries. In addition to this, due to the picturesque background of Arizona, the tourist industry also plays an important role in the state’s economy.
Arizona is well-known for its desert ambience and hence, has a rich fauna consisting of xerophyte plants and a unique array of cacti and Joshua Trees. While the southern Basin and Range region of Arizona exhibit a desert landscape, the Colorado plateau in the north-central region boosts of a countryside of Ponderosa pines, the largest in the US. Owing to its varying elevations, Arizona experiences various climatic conditions in different parts of the state. While the lower landscape goes through hot summer and cool winters, the higher regions have cold winters and moderate summers.
