Georgia Insurance

Georgia became a state of US on the second of January in 1788 and was the fourth state to be incorporated with Atlanta as the capital and is also the largest city in the state. The state covers an area of 59,441 square miles hence becoming the twenty-fourth biggest state in the USA. The population for this state in the year 2000 was 8,186,453 making in the tenth most populous state in the USA.  The state was the birthplace of the 39th president of USA, James Earl Carter, Jr. who was born on the first of October in 1924 in Plains.

The important industries in the state of Georgia are timber, agriculture that includes peanuts, corn, cotton, etc and textiles.  The chief rivers in this state are Savannah River, Chattahoochee River, and Suwannee River.  Some of the major lakes in Georgia are West Point Lake, Clark Hill Lake, Lake Sidney Lanier and Lake Hartwell. The highest point in the state at 1,458 m above sea level is known as Brasstown Bald.

Appalachian Plateau, the Appalachian Ridge and Valley Region, the Atlantic Coastal Plain, East Gulf Coastal Plain the Piedmont and the Blue Ridge are the six land regions that the state of Georgia is divided. The landscape in Georgia extends from the north and northeast mountains to the southeast coastal plains. The climate in Georgia is subtropical that is mild winters and humid summers. The precipitation in Georgia from central to northeast varies from 40” to 75” and the summer temperatures are approximately 900 throughout but the night brings relief from the scorching heat. The state is prone to storms off of the Atlantic Ocean on the eastern border of the state and these areas are more prone to adverse weather conditions cause by the ocean requiring these residents to protect their property via Georgia home insurance policies and Georgia auto insurance policies.  Other areas within the state also have their unique weather conditions requiring similar Georgia insurance policies.
